Aspergirls

The EMPATHIE GROUP organizes evenings on a monthly basis dedicated to girls and women with Asperger's syndrome .

These are meetings conducted by psychologists specialized in Spectrum Disorders in children, adolescents and adults,  which will offer food for thought on various issues related to the world of Asperger's for women (such as self-esteem, family management, relationship difficulties with neurotypical women, difficulties in the work / school context, relationships affective with the partner, etc.).

These meetings are open to Asperger women aged 16 and over,  is  to those who have already received an official diagnosis, and to those who have self-diagnosed or suspect they belong to this type of functioning.

The purpose of these evenings, in addition to dealing with specific topics, is also to expand one's network of acquaintances to other women with Asperger's functioning. It is an opportunity to make new friends , to confront each other, to receive professional support from trained psychologists  on female functioning, but also to have an opportunity to  sharing their experiences  with  other Aspie women: each participant will bring their own experience  personal in an enriching sense for the whole group.

This type of proposal is an original idea of the multidisciplinary team specializing in autism and Asperger's syndrome  Clinique Autisme et Asperger de Montréal  directed by Dr. Isabelle Hénault , an internationally renowned psychologist and sexologist.

It is re-proposed for the first time in Italy thanks to the clinical experience of Dr. Valentina Pasin ,  specialized in Spectrum Disorders in Canada, who carried out a one-year internship at the Clinique Autisme et Asperger de Montréal under the supervision of Dr. Hénault, focusing in particular on the female profile of Asperger's syndrome and the topic of sexuality in people with autism and Asperger's Syndrome.
