NEUROPSYCHOLOGY

Neuropsychology

Our team is made up of Neuropsychologists who offer assessments aimed at all age groups (children, adults, elderly) and also neuropsychological treatments aimed at the developmental age for the enhancement of the main cognitive functions: attention and concentration, executive functions, memory , visual-spatial skills, logical-mathematical skills.

NEUROPSYCHOLOGY FOR THE DEVELOPMENT AGE (6-17 YEARS)

The assessment of neurocognitive functions in developmental age is usually requested when parents or teachers realize that the child has some difficulties in school or in daily activities.

It may happen that your baby:

  • You often forget your instructions or, despite spending a lot of time studying, you don't remember the information you have learned

  • Can't hold attention for a long time and is often called back by the teacher

  • Be slower than your peers and can't keep up with the pace of the class

  • Read or write with difficulty and make many mistakes, or do not understand what you read

  • Be very slow in your calculations, making many mistakes

  • Be awkward in movement or drop things often

  • You often confuse right with left

  • Colors very imprecisely and manage with difficulty the spaces of the notebook

NEUROPSYCHOLOGY FOR ADULT AGE (18-59 YEARS)

The neuropsychological examination is carried out when a person complains of cognitive difficulties that have always been present or that have manifested themselves over time.

It may be that you wish to carry out a neuropsychological study because, for example:

  • You realize that you cannot pay attention for a long time and / or you are constantly on the move, both mentally and physically

  • You seem to find it harder than others to understand new instructions

  • Switching from one activity to another takes a lot of effort

  • It is difficult to find and plan strategies to solve a problem

  • You often have the feeling of having the words "on the tip of your tongue"

  • It often happens that you forget information, appointments or do not remember where certain items are

  • You feel disoriented when you are in usual or new places

NEUROPSYCHOLOGY FOR THE THIRD AGE (70 AND + YEARS)

Neuropsychological evaluation in the elderly is carried out when cognitive impairment is suspected or when the person diagnosed with dementia wants to monitor the progress of the disease.

The need for an evaluation may arise from the emergence of some difficulties. In fact, it may happen that the person:

  • You forget about appointments, the places where he left some objects or do not remember recent or distant episodes in time

  • Often have the words "on the tip of the tongue"

  • Don't recognize the faces of acquaintances

  • Find it hard to do the math in your head or think more difficult

  • You have mood swings or a change in personality

  • Be uninhibited in social contexts

  • You find yourself disoriented over time and in family environments
